HOLISTIC BEINGS: we are an spirit with a body that has a mind.

In the previous post we said that we are a spirit that has a body and a mind that coexists in union with the whole and that YOGA seeks unity in harmony through its practice.

Patanjali was the teacher who codified the teachings of Yoga in the book the Yoga Sutras or aphorisms of Yoga. He also taught the technique of VIYOGA that is about separating the spirit, mind and body, thus seeing its true nature.

This way we can better understand our feelings and affective states, to then be able to integrate physically and mentally. It proposes to us to know our being, our essence, so that we can then bring that essence to the body and mind. Spiritually we feel, mentally we think and physically we do. But many times it happens that we "think, feel and do" contrary to what we really are and that generates DUKHA or dissatisfaction that generates sadness, anguish or anxiety. Patanjali said:

Our inner being wants to be authentic and expand while the mind tells him how "he must feel, think or do." Observe yourself, dedicate yourself to presence and get to know yourself.

The spirit is our passions, emotions and our feelings. An emotion is of short duration, produced by external stimuli (a movie, a joke, an insult) or internal (thoughts). If we hold on to an emotion and it lasts, it becomes… FOR PART 2: Activate the bell on my profile and don't miss more information about this in the following post.
